About
Marie Kang is a private violin instructor specializing in focused, structured instruction for students ages 8 through adult. Trained in Violin Performance at the University of Washington, she draws from over 17 years of serious study with an emphasis on tone production, phrasing, and performance psychology.
With professional experience as both a soloist and chamber musician in Seattle-area venues, Marie blends elements of the Suzuki method with traditional European pedagogy to meet each student’s needs while maintaining a disciplined, goal-oriented environment.
She has years of private teaching experience and has worked with students at all stages of development. Her students have earned placements in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras (SYSO), All-State Orchestra, NAFME, and other local honors ensembles.
Lessons emphasize technical precision, musical depth, and the development of strong practice habits: skills that support long-term artistic growth and personal confidence.
